Project Checkpoint
We haven't started to work on our project much at all. Me, Zac, and Dylan are planning on making a movie trailer for the book Of Mice and Men. I'm pretty sure that Zac and Dylan are going to end up playing Lennie and George. So I think we have those parts covered and since I hate to be on video I'll just play the other random girl rolls, and you never know, maybe some guy rolls too. We're still not sure about who's going to do the voiceover yet.
We are planning on doing the movie flimming and editing at my house on Saturday the 25th. I have a forest and we can film in there some along with around my house and the farm down the street. I think we have a pretty good setting to work with, but we still have to figure out what scenes we're going to do and how we're going to get the movie to come together.
A few setbacks would be if it decides to rain on Saturday. It would be very difficult to record in the rain and still look professional a little bit. Another set back could be if my computer or video camera decide to stop working because when you really need something to work of course it will go wrong.

Romeo and Juliet: Video Post
I found this video on youtube and I knew the song preveiously. I thought this song related to Romeo and Juliet because it's all about the guy leaving and still wanting to be with the girl. He's hoping they can be together someday and be happy again, but he's not sure. Romeo got banished so that would represent the guy leaving and wanting to come back to Juliet so they can be together.

Romeo and Juliet Photo Post

This phototgraph relates to Romeo and Juliet because it is a scene in the play. It's one of the most important scenes so far I believe. This scene is the balcony scene. Where Romeo and Juliet decide that they are truley madly in love with each other and they want to get married. They speak about how they can't let their parents know about them or they'll get killed.

Romeo and Juliet, Act Two
I think that the balcony scence was very interesting. The characters involved are Romeo and Juliet. Romeo is practically spying on Juliet and then she starts talking about him. He pops out of the bushes then they start love talking to eachother. It's a very cute and strange scene all at the same time. They start babbling on about how they love eachother and how they will most likely not be able to be together and then BAM, they're like, "lets get married." It's wierd.
I think this scene will greatly affect the future because if this scene never happened they would have never decided to get married. Romeo wouldn't have run off to talk with Friar about marrige and he would have been sad that she was a Capulet and he was a Montague and couldn't be together. Now he's happy that he has a chance to marry her and has her love. I would have to say that I haven't been in this type of situation before. I'm not planning on running off and falling in love and getting married anytime soon. Also if there was a guy like Romeo hiding in my bushes after I met him just once I would probably freak out because that is serious stalker actions and then I would tell my dad or someone to go get him off the property.

Characters in Romeo and Juliet
I choose Romeo. He is a very sensitive and love struck teenager who thinks he has to get married right now. Whenever he meets a pretty girl he thinks he's in love and forgets about the last girl he was "in love" with. He also seems to be depressed A LOT because of his love problems. Such as if the girl he likes doesn't like him back he doesn't want to move on and he becomes very sad and a downer for everyone around. I think he would look hansome and nice since he is very romantic. If I met him in my everyday life I would probably be taken back by his thoughtfulness since guys aren't like that now, but I also think that he would get annoying very quickly. Always complaining about love and not living to have fun at all. It would get old.
Someone I think is a lot like Romeo is one of my girlfriends. I won't say a name but she is always obbessing about guys and she always wants my advice. I give it to her and she always says that shes going to talk to the guy, that she likes, but she never does. Such as she wanted to ask him to tolo but she didn't do since she chickened out, but then she was sad that she didn't do it in time and that was all that she would talk about. She got really annoying and I told her to forget about him or do something to change it, there are so many other people out there, just like Benvolio did for Romeo by making him go to the party.

Anticipating Shakespeare
I enjoyed A Midsummers Night's Dream even though I did think it was really corny. I think the setting of the movie was interesting and a little bit hard to follow, but it would make a good magical play. The language was very challenging for me to understand, so I didn't really know what was going on. It was either because I couldn't hear it well enough or I just don't understand shakespeare. It did get easier to understand closer to the end but by then I was already lost. The only way I understood what was going on was when I thought back to what you said to the movie before the movie started. I do think that Shakespeare did a good job at developing all of the characters to all have their own personalitys.
I'm very excited to watch Romeo and Juliet next week. I've never actually watched the play or anything about it, but of course I have certaintly heard about it. I've heard that it is an amazing but sad love story. Where Romeo is not alloud to see Juliet and they would rather die than not be together, I think that's what it's about. I think I will like it a lot and I do think I will enjoy the next few months of class but I probably still won't like the language of shakespeare because it is very hard for me to understand.

Freewrite/Insight: Animal Farm
I like this book but it's not really my favorite type of reading. It's just not very exciting for me and it's a little bit frusterating to read because the animals are just not very smart. They let the pigs tell them what to do and the pigs have control and have put fear into all the animals. If the other animals were smart they would join together and take out the dogs and the pigs, but that hasn't happened so now napoleon is only going to get more power on the farm.
The farm is bound to fail in my eyes. Since napoleon kills everyone that thinks about snowball or thinks about not listening to napoleon, there will soon be no animals left on the farm. They will all feel the fear of napoleon and if they have any type of brain, they would think about not obeying. Or maybe they'll realize that all of their friends just got slaughtered right before their eyes and that is not what a good leader should be doing to his animals. Maybe they'll realize that napoleon is taking all of the stuff he needs and that he doesn't actually care for the other animals, he just cares for himself.

Winter Break Extra Credit
It all started out like any normal snow day. You wake up and look online then it says no school so you go back to bed, wake up at 10:00, and call a friend. So I called sonia and we both decided to go sleding today. I had found a really giant hill over by the briggs ymca that other people were sleding also. When we arrived at the hill, we mapped it out and what sides to go off of. We went down one side but it was so slow, our need for speed was not satified. We walked over to the other side and we started going off of it and making ramps. It was all fun untill people started trying to use our ramps, but lets just say that the guys going off of them weighed quite a bit more than us so they totally destroyed them. We gave up in trying to keep them away and went to the other side.
This side was steep! it had at the very end a almost straight uphill ramp. Nobody was using this ramp. I went down it once but chickened out right before I went off. Sonia was too afraid to try so I went again and by this time their was an audience at the top of the hill waiting for me to die after I went off the jump. I was very determinded to land it so I jumped on the sled and started down the hill and lets just say my need for speed was overwhelmed. I flew down the hill and off the ramp. It felt like I was flying and that was the fun part, but the landing was not so much fun.
When I landed it people cheered. It was awesome and apparently I was the only one who landed it all day. That was cool but I just wanted to lay there. Be dead. I got the breath totally knocked out of me and Sonia with the camera took pictures of me just lying there. For the rest of the time there I didn't sled anymore I just watched all the guys that didn't believe I could do it try and nobody did soar through the air like did. Many of them chickened out like I did the first time. I became the little legend for the day that everyone wanted to beat, but I don't think anyone did, well at least not while I was there.
